TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 20, 2013) – University officials joined by community leaders who champion the region’s push toward an innovation economy formally launched USF’s new Student Innovation Incubator Tuesday as a unique place for student inventors and entrepreneurs to learn, collaborate and launch their new businesses.
The Student Innovation Incubator provides workspace and a collaborative business environment for USF students from all graduate and undergraduate disciplines to create and grow new businesses.The incubator was developed by USF Research & Innovation’s business arm, USF CONNECT, in partnership with the USF Center for Entrepreneurship, Florida High Tech Corridor Council, and Hillsborough County.

The event brought together entrepreneurs from across the Tampa Bay area to showcase the business ventures USF student entrepreneurs, USF’s Tampa Bay Technology Incubator companies and startups from the First WaVE Accelerator in downtown Tampa.

Tampa) is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, held every
November. This year 138 countries around the world are participating by
hosting events and activities designed to inspire innovation and celebrate
entrepreneurship.
