TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 1, 2015) - The Week of Welcome at University of South Florida began with incoming freshmen arriving on campus and moving into their residence halls on August 20th. Week of Welcome (WOW) is a campus-wide celebration that takes place each fall and spring semester and is the perfect time for students to experience some of the traditions and organizations that USF has to offer.
This year more than 700 volunteers joined the Bull Haul to assist many of the 3,500 students that live on campus in the USF residence halls.
The festivities on the first day included the celebratory balloon drop in the Marshall Student Center to kick off the new school year. View a slide show of the event.
A futuristic set of events were planned for the University of South Florida’s Week of Welcome this fall, and with a “Back to the Future” theme students were greeted with a replica of the DeLorean time machine that was available for photo opportunities.
Despite a rainy weather delay, Freshmen students came out in full force to the Corbett Soccer Stadium to participate in the annual Class Capture photo.
Fan Fest 2015 gave Bulls fans of all ages a chance to meet and interact with USF coaches, athletes and of course everyone's favorite mascot, Rocky. Click through the slide show to see all the fun.
The Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement together with 300 students participated in the CHARGE event where students were encouraged to "grab service by the horns" to better the Tampa Bay community. It was a day to make friends, make memories and to make a difference.

USF System President Judy Genshaft strolled through campus to greet students during the first week of classes. She encouraged first year students to get involved, invited them to participate in the over 100 WOW events and of course stopped for a few selfies along the way. Students packed the Sun Dome for Round-Up, the annual comedy show hosted by the Center for Student Involvement. This years event included Men's Basketball Coach Orlando Antigua, Women's Basketball Coach Jose Fernandez and football player Thor Jozwiak highlighting the importance of students to come out and support USF Athletics. The comedy portion featured Nicole Byer from Girl Code and Jay Pharoah from Saturday Night Live. Relive the Round-Up event below.
