Puppies, Free Massages and Discounted Food Help Relieve Finals Stress at USF

TAMPA, Fla. (April 26, 2016) – University of South Florida students will have numerous opportunities to take a relaxing break from their final exam studies thanks to a full schedule of programs and services in the Marshall Student Center and a visit from pet therapy dogs. The puppy-petting, provided by Paws & Relax, is scheduled from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 on the lawn outside the USF Library.

From April 27 - May 6, the Marshall Student Center will be transformed into the “Marshall Study Center” to help students “finish strong” as they prepare for finals. The MSC will operate under extended hours until May 6, staying open until 3 a.m. instead of its usual midnight closure.

A kickoff event, featuring Rocky the Bull, will begin tonight at 10:30 p.m. in the MSC atrium with stress relieving games and a late night breakfast provided by Student Government. Faculty led review sessions and quiet individual or group study rooms will be provided on the second and third floors during the 10-day “Study Center” program. Another highlight of the week is the free massages. Massage chairs are available in the Wellness Center on the first floor and professional chair massages will be offered for free on Monday, May 2 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in MSC room 3708. In addition to games and prizes, free snacks plus discounted food options will be offered at the various dining options within the MSC.
