TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 7, 2016) – Wesley Clark, retired four-star general of the U.S. Army and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, and Laci Green, popular sex education YouTube host, will speak at the University of South Florida this month as part of the student-run University Lecture Series. Clark will appear at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9 (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) and Green will appear at 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:30 p.m.) on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Both lectures will take place in the Marshall Student Center’s Oval Theater.
Clark was selected by students in collaboration with the USF Center for Strategic & Diplomatic Studies and USF Student Government as they sought to engage a speaker with demonstrated world leadership experience. Clark retired from his military career in 2000 after spending 38 years in the U.S. Army where he rose to the rank of four-star general as NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander in Europe. Clark is now an investment banker, alternative energy leader, author, instructor, network television military analyst and businessman. As an author of three best-selling books, Clark’s 2014 release, “Don’t Wait for the Next War” identifies a unifying strategy to tackle America’s current and future national security challenges. He’s currently involved with numerous non-profit organizations and he’s a member of the Clinton Global Initiative’s Energy & Climate Change Advisory Board.
Named one of the “30 Most Influential People on the Internet” by Time Magazine, Green hosts “Sex Plus,” the internet’s most popular sex education show with five million monthly viewers in 196 countries. She is also the host/writer of “MTV Braless” and produces an educational series for Planned Parenthood. A 2011 graduate with highest honors from UC Berkeley, the sex education activist holds a certificate in rape and dating violence crisis counseling and has worked with hundreds of organizations on sexual health and sexual violence prevention efforts. Green is expected to discuss those efforts with the USF audience.
