USF President Judy Genshaft leads the procession of Honors College freshman students in the college's traditional convocation walk, with Provost Ralph Wilcox, right, and Honors College Dean Charles Adams, left.
In a festive ceremony held each year since the founding of USF's Honors College, the freshman class of Honors students embarked Sept. 1 on the first steps of their collegiate academic journey.
Marching to the beat of USF’s Herd of Thunder, USF President Judy
Genshaft, Provost Ralph Wilcox, USF’s deans and members of leadership, and the
Honors College Dean’s Council led more than 500 new students on the
traditional Honors Convocation walk from the Allen Building (home to the Honors
College) through the bougainvillea arcade to the Marshall Student Center
for a formal program.
Honors College Dean Charles Adams led the convocation for the fourth year.
“This is a very exciting day in the Honors College,” Adams said. “It’s a chance for leadership from across campus to come together and celebrate the beginning of a new academic year and a freshmen class with the strongest academic record in the Honors College’s history.”
