Tampa, Fla. (Sept. 10, 2014) – The day began with renowned
Primatologist Jane Goodall stopping by the botanical gardens at the University
of South Florida’s Tampa campus to share her wisdom and inspirational stories
with students from Tampa Bay area elementary schools. The children greeted Dr.
Goodall with the same kindness and curiosity that Goodall described that she
herself had as a young child dreaming of getting outside to learn about and
explore nature.

The event was part of Goodall’s Roots and Shoots outreach program and in collaboration with USF’s College of Arts and Sciences which has worked diligently for years to bring Goodall to campus for a lecture, included a morning visit to the gardens.
The evening lecture held at the USF Sun Dome was well
received by a packed, diverse crowd of university students and enthusiastic
supporters, all equally enamored to be in the presence of Goodall and her soft
spoken, yet vibrant message about our collective responsibility to take care of
the planet and all living species.
