News Archive Seminar on how to commercialize inventions offered for USF faculty, staff and graduate students

Intellectual property and tech transfer experts to share marketing/funding insights

TAMPA, FL (Oct. 24, 2011) — The latest seminar for USF inventors will be presented on Fri., Nov. 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the Oak View Room of the Interdisciplinary Research Building (IDR), 3720 Spectrum Blvd. in the USF Research Park in Tampa. Free parking is available.

Commercializing Technology through the Power of Licensing: Marketing, Resources and Start-Ups is being offered at no charge to USF faculty, staff and graduate students. The fall semester seminar, hosted by the USF chapter of the National Academy of Inventors and the Technology Transfer Office, Division of Patents & Licensing, is a ResearchOne event.

Reservations are not required, however space is limited so attendees are encouraged to register by Nov. 2nd to ccarr1@usf.edu.

The seminar will include:

- Early Stage Technology Marketing, presented by Heidjer Staecker, partner, TreMonti Consulting, LLC.

- Resource Highlights: Strategies for Getting Funded under SBIR/STTR, presented by Dr. Cristy Johnsrud, president & principal consultant, Pathfinder Research, Inc. and Dr. Stephan Athan, chief engineer of Defense Electronics Corporation and chief engineer of Custom Manufacturing & Engineering.

- Networking with Industry: Faculty Panel Discussion with Dr. Cesar Borlongan, Dr. Larry Dunleavy, Dr. Huntington Potter and David Fries.
