Berish studies the relationship between musical expression and the social experience of space and place. Broader research interests include topics in jazz and American popular music, American culture of the 1930s and ’40s, jazz and civil rights, analysis of popular music and the role of place and mobility in American historical experience.

Bugos directs the NEA Funded Research Lab, Cognition and Coordination in Music Across the Lifespan (CALM Lab) where she mentors interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate students from across the USF campus. Her research examines the neurological basis for music perception and cognition with regard to human development, lifelong learning and cognitive transfer. Her interests have led to the development of new music education programs for healthy and clinical populations of children (Multimodal Music Training) and for adults (Keys to Staying Sharp; Piano for Parkinson’s).

Robison is Professor of Musicology and Early Music Ensemble director at the University of South Florida, and has been on the School of Music faculty since 1977. He teaches history surveys, graduate history seminars, symphonic literature, intercultural composers and other topics at USF. He received his Doctorate in Musicology from Stanford University in 1975, where he specialized in Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque topics with an emphasis on historical performance practices. Since 1990 his research interests have become more global through his work on contemporary composers from diverse Asian, African and Latin American cultures.

Lee is a teacher, pianist, researcher, author and administrator. She, is the founder of Ars Nostra and performs piano duo music commissioned by renowned contemporary composers. Her work is featured in music labels including Ravello, Centaur, Capstone, Navona and Albany . She is founding Editor of the Cultural Expressions in Music Monographs Series.

Fung is a professor of music education and founding director of the Center for Music Education Research. He coordinates the Ph.D. program and teaches graduate courses in social psychology, measurement and evaluation, statistics, qualitative research, philosophical and historical issues and music in higher education.
