Philippidis is a chemical engineer and renewable energy expert with a focus in biofuels and bioproducts, and he holds 11 patents in clean technologies. He serves as acting dean of the Patel College of Global Sustainability and director of the Sustainable Energy concentration. He is a Fulbright Specialist Scholar and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) with expertise in the biofuels and bioproducts sectors. He has authored numerous publications and has developed graduate courses in renewable energy and sustainability.

Joseph W. Dorsey
Director of Food Sustainability and Security concentration
Patel College of Global Sustainability
Dorsey is Director of the Food Sustainability and Security concentration and a LEED Green Associate. An expert in human nutrition, food security and sustainability, his research has studied topics including the transferability of hydroponic technology to arid and semi-arid regions. He can discuss environmental policy and behavior, environmental justice, urban ecology and sustainability science.

Ghebremichael has worked on a number of national and international projects as a PI and Co-PI, including International Research Experience for Students projects on water sanitation and hygiene in Ghana, water quality implications of onsite sanitation and sea level rise in coastal communities, life cycle assessment of shopping bags and greenhouse gas inventory and projection for the State of Florida.

Thomas Culhane
Associate professor of instruction and director of climate mitigation and adaptation
Patel College of Global Sustainability
Culhane can discuss climate mitigation and adaptation, harnessing the effects of extreme heat and the extreme power of storms and using them as sources of energy, community-scale biodigesters, windmills and greenhouses to exploit hotter temperatures and stronger winds to offset fossil fuel use.
