Arbesú is a scholar of medieval and Golden Age Spanish literature. His research focuses on medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, codicology, palaeography and editorial practices. In the field of Florida studies, Arbesú has discovered several important manuscripts, including the most complete account of the conquest of Florida.
