Yadav is director of the USF Center for Microbiome Research. He is a leading expert in microbiome, gut health, probiotics and cognition and neurosurgery. His research focuses on the relationship between leaky gut caused by disturbances in the gut microbiome and the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.

O’Brien’s research focuses on the fundamental mechanisms behind perception, attention and decision-making in healthy adults and in changes to these systems during normal and abnormal aging. She is part of teams that have received more than $68 million in grant funding to study Alzheimer's disease in older adults.
