Miller's research focuses on physical activity, school-based intervention and nutrition related behavior. He has conducted school-based intervention studies in which elementary school students wore pedometers every day at school and at home to evaluate intervention components (peer competition, goal setting, public posting, feedback) for their effect on overall activity levels.

Gray's research focuses on developing and evaluating obesity prevention and nutrition education intervention programs, especially for children and adolescents. She can discuss general nutrition and diet topics, and she has specialized expertise in childhood obesity prevention, community nutrition education, nutrition program evaluation and nutrition in children with autism spectrum disorder.
