Teng is an expert in virology and viral replication; allergy, immunology and infectious disease and biomedical engineering and nano medicine. He studies the role of host-virus interactions in viral pathogenesis.

Breitbart is a biological oceanographer whose research interests include genomics, marine microbiology, wastewater microbiology, virology and molecular biology. She led groundbreaking research that identified the cause of the 2022 mass die-off long-spined sea urchins in the Caribbean and along Florida’s East coast.

Robert Gallo

Gallo is director of the USF Health Virology Institute and a globally recognized expert in virology, HIV/AIDS, human retroviruses, global health, cancer and microbial oncology. His is widely known for the co-discovery in 1984 that HIV was the cause of AIDS and for his development of the HIV blood test.
