Ponton is a social theorist and historian of Afro-America and the 20th Century United States. His research on segregation utilizes Afropessimism to destabilize our understanding of change, time and redemption in the singular moment of black suffering.

Tanasi is Director of the Institute for Digital Exploration at USF. His research focuses is on classical archaeology with a focus on ceramic studies in the central Mediterranean from prehistory to the end of the Roman empire. He applies 3D Digital Imaging techniques for the documentation, interpretation and global dissemination of endangered, inaccessible or neglected archaeological heritage with projects in Sicily and Florida.

Boterbloem teaches European History and Russian-Soviet history from the 1500s until today. Research topics include early modern and modern Russian, Soviet and Dutch history and the Russian-Soviet and Dutch empires.
