Vaselbehagh is an expert in thermal-fluid sciences whose research focuses on energy resilience in nuclear and solar energy systems, aerodynamics, propulsion and system optimization. With funding support from NASA, the National Science Foundation, Tampa Electric Company and the Tennessee Valley Authority, his work in collaboration with Boeing, Raytheon and other industry partners advances thermal-fluid sciences to enhance the development of energy and aerospace systems.

Volinsky is an expert in thin films processing whose research focuses on how to make and test very thin layers of materials that are used in things like electronics, coatings, or solar cells -- and understanding how strong or flexible they are. He also studies irradiated materials properties and X-Ray diffraction -- how radiation changes a material’s structure and properties and the use of X-rays to analyze the internal arrangement of its atoms.

Pyayt's research lab designs, develops and evaluates novel systems for biological and biomolecular sensing, manipulation and assembly. Dunleavy's research focuses on CAD modeling of microwave and millimeter- devices; development of new microwave/millimeter-wave experimental techniques for evaluation, modeling and design verification of devices, circuits and wireless sub-systems; design and evaluation of novel monolithic microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits (MMICs); and MMIC based sub-systems. This research led to the spinout company -- Modelithics, Inc. -- focused on commercial development and distribution of microwave and millimiter-wave device models.
